Title: New tools for monitoring the interactions between magnetic nanoparticles and biomolecules
Claire Smadja is a Professor of Biotechnology at the University of Paris-Saclay in Orsay, France. She received her Pharmacy Degree (1992) from the University of Paris-Sud and Ph.D. (1996) from the University of Paris-Descartes. After visiting the laboratory of Molecular Neurosciences at Babraham Institute (BBSRC, Cambridge, UK) for a post-doctoral position (1996-1998), she became an Associate Professor (1999) and a full Professor at the University of Paris-Saclay (2014). she is co-director of the Master's 2 programme in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Advanced Therapies since 2020, and has contributed to the development of courses in nanobiotechnology. Her research initially focused on the development of miniaturized devices for biomarker detection, including lab-on-a-chip and biosensors. She contributed to the development of innovative methods for processing complex samples using magnetic particles. Her current research focuses on the analysis of therapeutic proteins, particularly monoclonal antibodies, using miniaturized separation methods (capillary electrophoresis, capillary isoelectric focusing) and two-dimensional chromatographic methods to detect their degradations. She has contributed to 80 publications and book chapters and has presented over 40 communications at scientific conferences.
