Title: Translational exhalomics in clinical settings for diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring

Pablo Sinues is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Basel and lectures in Analytical Chemistry at ETH Zurich. He studied chemistry at the University of Murcia and earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University Carlos III of Madrid, with doctoral research in Madrid and at Yale University in John B. Fenn’s lab under Juan Fernández de la Mora. He leads the Translational Breath Research group at University Children’s Hospital Basel, advancing secondary electrospray ionization mass spectrometry for breath analysis in precision medicine. He has authored 90+ papers and co-invented five patents. He received the 2020 Swiss Group for Mass Spectrometry Award and a Swiss National Science Foundation Eccellenza grant for contributions to exhaled-breath analysis by ambient mass spectrometry. He is founding President of Society of the Society of Spanish Researchers in Switzerland, Co-President of the Swiss Metabolomics Society, an expert for Innosuisse, and co-founded the start-up Deep Breath Intelligence AG.
