Title: Open-source Capillary Electrophoresis - Democratizing Separation Science: Design Principles and Practical Implementations From Our Laboratory

Petr Kubáň is an Associate Professor and leading researcher at the Department of Bioanalytical Instrumentation, Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Brno, Czech Republic. He obtained his PhD from Stockholm University and completed postdoctoral research at Texas Tech University, USA. His research focuses on microcolumn separation techniques, including capillary electrophoresis, ion chromatography, and HPLC, with particular emphasis on miniaturization, microfluidics, sample pretreatment, and the development of open-source analytical instrumentation. He has authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters, and a US patent, and has delivered more than 70 presentations at international conferences. His work has been recognized by multiple awards and supported by national and international funding agencies.
