Title: Analysis of Protein Corona Formation on Lipid Nanoparticles by Open-Channel Separation Techniques

Wenwan Zhong is a Professor of Chemistry in the School of Chemistry and Materials Science at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Prof. Zhong earned her B.S. degree from USTC. After gaining a Ph.D. from Iowa State University (USA), she worked at the US Los Alamos National Laboratory as a postdoctoral research fellow. Before joining USTC in 2024, Prof. Zhong was a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) from 2006 to 2023. At UCR, she received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2011, was promoted to Full Professor in 2016 and served as the director for the Environmental Toxicology Graduate Program. Prof. Zhong’s research aims to deepen understanding of biomolecular function and to improve disease diagnosis and treatment, employing analytical tools such as capillary electrophoresis, field-flow fractionation, microfluidics, microscopy, and mass spectrometry. Current efforts focus on: 1) Developing liquid biopsy platforms for early disease detection; 2) Designing supramolecular sensors to detect structural alterations in biomolecules; and 3) Investigating the nano–bio interface to guide the design of nanomedicines.
